@YoukaiChoGonou if you still have my windows 7 gif installer,. then use 7zip and extract the installer and then find gig.reg and right click and edit it
replace gif and GIF with the extension like png and PNG then when all done save as something like png.reg and then double click it and install the registry key. and then keep doing that for all the extensions you want., I'm not sure there might be and easier way do do it ill look into it
Hi goofgear! Thanks a ton for making this patch - nice to be able to view gifs w/o IE or quicktime. I'm trying to get this to work for other image types, but when I try to run the edited registry files, it doesn't work. (Cannot import png.reg, Error accessing registry.) Help?

Is there any simple way to uninstall this or do I have to fiddle through the registry?

    guys.. i use irfanview.
    It supports all animated formats.

In addition: it's portable, free, light, fast, customizable, and most important.. you can use ESC to close :) !

To switch from Windows Photo Viewer to irfanview for a specific format:
    Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations

then highlight the extension and browse for irfanview.

If you don't mind installation: install and it will register the extensions automatically.

    Note: (PAF makes this stealth)
PortableApps.com has the old version posted here.
If you want the latest version 4.32 as a PAF format, i've updated it here.

    Hi goofwear,

Many thanks for the Windows 7 Gif Viewer. It's works perfectly just like the old WinXP. I had used Corgano's giftview.exe but he has referred us to your new programme.

    Thanks again, MS

    UAC pops up for run32dll

I installed this and enabled the run32dll to be XP compatible. I am running W7 32. Whenever I click on a gif, the UAC control dialog comes up. How can I stop that?

    Only having two problems:

    1. When using it as default, the thumbnails are totally broken. anyway to fix this?
((FIXED: Looks like this is only an issue in "detailed" view, in normal thumb view it works fine ))
    2. Would there be any way to get "Open File Location" in the menu? (rlyrlywantthizplxxxxx )

Btw I built a .jpg and .png and .jpeg reg stuff and uploaded it here:
    Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

    Enjoy guys! =)

I like that fact that you got .jpg, .png, .jpeg for the gif viewer (I like using one program) but how do I get those to work all the come up as is text documents.

I still see this. I did figure out how to associate other image files with this without a script or reg hack--simply point to c:\shimgvw.dll (you'll have to pick "all files" first). However, .gif files show blank icons like that when using List or Details view. List is my default--is there a way to fix this? Some kind of icon--ANY icon--would look better than this. Overall a very nice prog though, just trying to get it tweaked just right.
