Xmedia Recode Conversion and File Size

I have a group of video files that I want to join, requiring that they all have the same frame height and width.

When I change only those two items in Xmedia Recode (making both the height and width smaller) and create a new file (both input and output are MP4), the new file's size is about twice a large as the old file. I don't have the specific numbers.

Can anyone explain why the file's size increases? Also, any recommendation for a better way to change just the two items mentioned, that hopefully won't greatly increase the new file's size?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi br4-

You should really be asking that question in the forum for Xmedia Recode since your questions can be answered best there. It's not a software problem with Win 7, which is what this forum is about.

I responded to you in the last thread you created, sort of as a courtesy. However, you never responded to my last post.

I couldn't find a forum for Xmedia Recode. I had thought this forum was for video issues, which this problem is. In any event, I've discovered that Any Video Converter will create the new file at a much more reasonable size.

Your post on my last thread asked me to post the file I had written about, which I couldn't do. Sorry for not responding to tell you that.
