    This is driving me nuts

Yeah i am having the same issue i have 80gb ipod classic, latest ipod software and Itunes, Winamp and even some random windows media player addon so you can sync with media player and none of them work. i am using windows 7 ultimate 64x RC1 build 7100. Every time i get to about 30 or so songs the ipod says " ok to disconnect" and whatever software i am using it locks up. i can manage to put a few songs in one at a time but after a few that too causes the ipod to eject itself. i have tried unchecking the box to limit power usage in device manager for the usb root hubs....no luck..... i even tried SEVERAL older versions of itunes and even ran in EVERY compatibility mode with no luck what so ever. i am two seconds away from throwing my ipod at the wall. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. i have been searching the web for weeks now.

Do it. The Zune HD is coming out soon! And that means...

    No more crappy Apple software!

I wanted to bump this topic back up in hopes that it may be resolved at some point. I would also like to mention that the problem is persisting with iTunes 9 on windows 7RC1
the winamp in vista mode workaround is working for me though

ok so now i have figured out it was due to my library being on an external, is there any remedy to this? it syncs right up when my library is on the c:. but my library is big so i don't think this is going to work for me!
media monkey that works yeah put I tunes on the same drive and boot it from there or you can take your library on your internal that will solve all issues, I also have a tip if you need to get stuff from your pod there is an article on how to use your ipod to trransfer music to a new computer it works for other uses as well

I think the issue here is 64bit. I bought a Ipod 160GB Classic today and use 32bit Windows 7, plugged it in booted up iTunes and it synced straight away with no errors. I'm not sure about this but seems like it is only affecting 64bit OS.
