Remove "Shop for music online" context menu in WMP ?

    Hi

For the record I'm using Windows 7:)

To simply put it, I would like to remove the "Shop For Music Online" context menu.

Just as the image shows, how would I go about removing the "Shop For Music Online" context menu ?

Whenever I click a media file, such as a Music Folder or Picture file, I get those stupid annoying context menus.

I find it rather annoying, as much as Windows Media Player has improved over the years, it would be nice If MS wouldn't put unnecessary crap within the menus.

I tried using ShexView and ShellXView however I can't seem to find them within the program.

Anyone know of anywhere in the Registry where this little bugger might be hiding ?

    Thanks

    Jordan

    Hi JordanJP, Welcome to SF,

Just to add if that didn't work Download ShellExView

The rule is to disable non-Microsoft context menu handlers *one-by-one* and verify if the problem is solved. If disabling one does not solve the problem, undo the disabled item and disable the next non-Microsoft handler. Do the same until the problem is solved and finally identify the culprit. Scroll right to see the Company Name column in ShellExView.

    Hope this helps

The re-direct just sends you straight back to the main forum page.

    Awesome app though :)

For future reference, during WMP12 inital set up - do not tick the select 'set up store' box

I also just registered for this forum, only to gain access to the .reg file you posted. haha. It's a dream. I can't believe it actually works! Thanks a million. I must have not paid attention on the initial set up of WMP12 like I usually do... Anyway, thanks again. :)
