    Question about renaming Pictures

When I am renaming pictures as soon as I change the name that file goes to the top or bottom as soon as I go to the next one. Is there a way to stop this and have it the old way of it doesn't sort the files until you click the File header?

It's really annoying for me since I have to rename a lot of Pictures for work and when I lose my place its hard to go back and remember what pictures were what. Also it loses my place when it automatically moves the file on my and then brings my to that location.

I need it the old way Please Help

It is behaving in such a way coz it a picture folder arranges files by names. If you right click on an empty space on that folder , and then select Group by > Date, then it will not change the arrangement with renaming, but will arrange files chronologically .

is there a way for me to turn off the auto file so it doesn't move the file until I want it too. Even if I choose to sort it by file type or whatever it still moves the file on me when I rename it and move onto the next one. I just need it to not move the file until I want it too. So basically I don't want it to auto sort the folder for me. Is this possible?

Im not sure you can, or I least Im unsure how to stop it.

Not sure this will help but:
Are you trying to rename pictures in a folder with a simliar name?

With my Camera, it uploads pics with names like DMC0121.jpg or something like that.

If you right click and highlight all files in the folder, then right click the first file in the batch and name it .. (like My Birthday-2008 for example)

7 will autmatically rename all the files in that folder as My Birthday-2008 (01), My Birthday-2008 (02) etc
