The manual for your router is horrible IMO.

According the manual you need to open the web page for configuring the router. You can do this by typing 192.168.1.254 in to any web browser's address bar, provided you haven't changed it yourself. Look for SSID settings (not sure where to find them as the manual does not explain it clearly). From there you need to change the name of your network (SSID) as this a-hole knows the current name. You should see an option called "Broadcast SSID". According to the manual, you need to select Yes to hide the networks name so that the guy (or anyone) will not be able to see it by just looking for available networks. Then you should be able to see something called" Authentication Type". The manual recommends 128-bit WEP. You can do that or WPA2-PSK. The other 2 options are not as secure.

If you have any trouble, let us know.

Use 192.168.1.1 ... and dont use WEP... its way to easy to crack... use WPA2 for maximum protection..

Do you have your wireless connection password protected, not just your modem !
    Bet that's it.

I had a power failure a few months back and when it came back on had to reset my router, which blew out the security settings. When I checked my network afterward there was some clown named BeerCanBilly-PC loose on the wireless end.
BeerCanBilly! Hahaha, man that made my day

Sounds like Kasper doesn't want you to lock him out to me. You should be able to find a red button on your router. Press it to restore all default settings. Then you can change them as needed, including the ones I listed above. Especially the ones I listed above.
