Avoid Disconnecting from the Network when Switching Users

    Hi All!

    Thanks for reading this.

Can anyone tell me how the hell can we avoid to get disconnected from the network when switching users?

I have two accounts (one for me, one for my girl). For ex., I connect to my company's VPN and when I switch to my girl's account, I get disconnected from the VPN and from the Wi-Fi (it's like when I switch users, the network connections get closed but not the programs).

Can anyone help me? I'll appreciate it a lot.

    Thank you again!!!

    Regards,
    Fernando.

Not sure what to suggest but when you connect to the wifi, you can set it to "automatically detect this as default network...sorry I don't remember that exactly".
I would also Suggest you disable or remove any third-party wifi managers because they might interfere with the connection. Also, the user you are clicking to, does it require password or just click-to-go?

    That's some idea, cheers

    Thanks!

But I don't have any third party managers and the wi-fi is exactly connected as in my desktop PC. I don't know why the notebook disconnects when switching users

    But thanks for the reply!

Hello Lokiyo, and welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Unlike wired network, wireless network requires a secure connection. Otherwise, anyone could listen in to your signal and steal your passwords etc. When a new user logs into Windows, the security credentials of the new user must be checked by Windows before access to the network can be given, or again, anyone could join your network and steal your passwords and stuff. So when one user leaves the network, that access is terminated. When another user logs into the network, access is not allowed until security is verified. It is a good thing.

If this does not explain what you are experiencing, please add more detail?

    Cheers!
