The message: " No internet access" The fact: connected

I use Windows 7 RC at work. I connect to the internet over company LAN with static IP and manualy inserted DNS. My internet connection is OK, everything works, but there is a yellow triangle in the connection icon in tray. If I put the cursor over it, I can read: "Network No internet access"

I agree it is better then the oposite, but still...

ok, what happens or what does the troubleshooter tell you? Do you "connect to wireless network automatically when in range" ? I have seen a bug with this setting enabled. Try unchecking that option, then reboot, then connect manually. I have found this to be the only true way to atleast make my nic recognize if i'm connected, or have lan/wan access.

I'm talking about wired LAN, I do not have any wireless adapter in this machine.

my mistake, apology, tired eyes, many reads...

it may help if you listed your nic card, and take 2 mins to fill out the rest of your specs please, so that others with possibly the same hardware and problem, or setup, can chime and give their take/scenario/setup/fix/etc.

I would first look into the driver that the nic card is using that could be causing this problem. I responded to this as i had this at one point in time in RC when i was fooling with my wireless nic's non-7 drivers (in my case). In the muliple ways to install the driver, one way after install, had it reporting the same wrong error triangle as you.

When you troubleshoot the network, what do you get? Do you take a look at the detailed report? if you can, copy and paste that info here.

The card is intel pro 100 - a very common card. It is recognized automatically and the connection is established immediately. The troubleshooter doesn't report anything but that it can not solve my problem. After first three or so reboots there was no warning, it appeared suddenly for no obvious reason, not after some changes I made or after some update.

I will copy all possible messages I get tomorrow from my office.

    Network List Service

I'm having the same issue at work. I have an idea that it might be the Network List Service trying to get out onto the internet on port 123, but being blocked by the company firewall (not the windows firewall)

Not had a chance to test this yet though.

I had this problem myself on my home network with my laptop when I plug the lan cable in and turn off the wireless it wouldn't connect to the internet. I did some searching and found that IPv6 may have to do with this and turned it off. Try turning IPv6 off if your network is not setup to use it and see if that works.
    Hope this helps.

The company firewall and the proxy server we use could be the reason - but I have this problem only on my desktop computer, it does not appear on my laptop. And I have disabled ipv6 on both machines.

    News:
When I send a document to the network printer, configured as IP/TCP device, the yelow triangle disappears and if I move the cursor over the connection icon, it says: Internet acces.
    Strange.
