Can't get WPA2 Personal on XP Pro.
Hello,
I have a Realtek RTL8185 wireless lan card for PCI. I have run it numerous times in my 11 year old 600MHz Athlon home build. Recently I reinstalled it in this machine running Ubuntu 10.02. It recognized the card, installed the drivers and allowed me to enter and choose WPA2 - Personal with AES. I just put it in my 6 year old Acer today and first XP Pro SP3 tried to install it. I unfortunately let it. When it ran the interface to choose networks it did show any blocked SSID, which mine is. I disabled SSID blocking and it caught it and hooked up but will only allow WEP or WPA. I upgraded the drivers from the realtek site for XP and it had a date of 3/2010. It still would not let me get WPA2 Personal. I installed the Realtech disk and it fails to run the utility.
So basically how can I get this card and XP Pro 32Bit SP3 to allow the higher security protocol. I've tried to uninstall the driver, I've removed the card and made it reboot without it. I went to Device manager and it was gone. I CCleaned out and Revo Pro'd out the Realtek Utility RtWLAN and the updated drivers. When I put the card back and booted it had the same 3/2010 driver. It says there is nothing to rollback too. I really don't have a clue as to what is wrong. So any help along any lines will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
