Yet another specifical "no internet/strange gateway"
Hi to everyone, glad I found this forum, I guess I'm not alone.
I read couple of old threads on this issue, but mine's not going well as well.
I will try to be as short as possible. Computer info is in the profile. Other than that I have a clean and legal copy of 64-bit win 7 professional. No crappy software installed, the system is 2 weeks old, except networking, works perfect.
I do have to point out that I have an Adobe CS4 installed. It's not the whole master collection, only Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro.
First of all, a known issue was brought up from Apple called a Bonjour software which was incorporated into Adobe CS3 also and it was zeroconf networking (discovery of network disks with project files, suitable for large designer teams to share their work easily). In CS4 it is integrated into every Adobe program alongside with server program Version Cue Server. I don't have the VC server installed for that matter.
That can be read on their knownledgebase pages.
I went through two scenarios ...
#1:
New install of win 7 + fresh Adobe install without any Version Cue hassle with it. It resulted in my gateway constantly changing to 0.0.0.0. I could see that in tcp/ip settings. The boxes are grayed out in DHCP mode, but said 0.0.0.0 for the gateway instead of 192.168.1.1. Status said 0.0.0.0 too.
#2:
I reinstalled the Adobe suite again without dramatic components, stopped Adobe CSI at startup and disabled Version Cue lookups in Adobe programs. Fine. Now my gateway doesn't change to 0.0.0.0 but I still have no internet.
I use DHCP all the time, static doesn't help either. Router is netgear WRG614 wireless, no problems with it - other computers have no issues with the internet. LAN cards are nVidia with realtek chips both gigabit.
Dropouts are random. In both scenarios I had the netbios over tcp/ip enabled (NOD32 issue with workgroup computers). Now since the last drop out I have rolled back my nvidia drivers to Microsoft ones (before I had nforce 15.25 installed, via installer - at the next possible dropout I'll be installing them manually by exctracting them from the installer) and set the netbios back to default.
I always get a yellow triangle around exclamation mark when it dies.Have to say I'm a power user and haven't got a problem like that. Nothing helped ... nothing. Any ideas? I'll post ASAP if something happens again.
