So do you have two computers connected to the same router/modem?

Desktop and laptop right?

And the other computer is working right?
Just read more information, connect you laptop that connects to the internet,
then do an ipconfig in cmd.

What is the IP address, subnet mask, and defualt gateway of your laptop?

What does it report when you rightclick the Network Connection icon in the System Tray and run Troubleshooter? (Choose Ethernet if it asks during scan).

Your monthly DSL charge includes tech support to get and keep you connected.

Okay, so I fixed it now. What I did was just hold my modems reset button for 5 seconds. I dont know why it worked on my laptop before though.

Some cable modems will hold onto the mac address of the last computer it was directly connected to, I get this when I connect my laptop to a cable modem after its had a wireless router connected to the modem. You can hold the reset or unplug it, make sure it doesn't have a battery backup as i have run into those as well.

I always recommend getting a router between any modem and computers this way you don't have connection issues with the modem as much. Plus they can add a little bit of extra security features.

So tell me, what was wrong with the help in this thread?

You asked for help with the EXACT same problem, then started this thread a few hours later. What was the point? Not enough replies for you? We weren't good enough helping?

Either way, not only is this disrespectful, it is against forum rules.

Have you talked to your ISP yet? After about 1/2 hour of basic troubleshooting, I would call them to eliminate them as an element.
