    Can't Renew IP Address

I wont complete the renewal process when I go through command prompt. I can't access the internet. It just says limited or no connectivity. How can I fix this issue? I tried to repair it, but also says can't renew IP address.

Open an elevated command prompt and type the following commands and press Enter.

    Code:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

Go to services.msc and check if the DHCP service set to Started and Automatic.

How are you connecting, wireless or wired? Please describe your internet setup.

Does the laptop connect to the internet if you take it somewhere else, like a library or coffee shop?

wireless. I have other laptops that work just fine. The problem says that the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

it will connect via LAN. It just stays at 11mbps on wireless and says limited or no connectivity. I will not renew an IP address. It says can not renew.

If DHCP service is started, try deleting the wireless network from Device Manager then reboot. Win 7 will reinstall it and hopefully that will fix the problem.

It is started, it will not renew or assign an address. It connects, but says limited or no connection. Its IP is 169.254.249.179. That is a Public IP I thought. Cant repair it. Or Win Sock refresh.
