    Wireless Speed

I have a Dell D630, previously running Vista. After some minor TCP Window adjustments I had no problem maxing out my circuit on a speed test at 20Meg. Now with a clean W7 install and multiple different trys to adjust things, the fastest I can seem to get it is around 13Meg. Any suggestions?

no reason to tweak the TCP.... tis a myth IMO... i havent tweaked anything on this particular install and i dont see any changes from the times i tweaked it on previous installs. try resetting back to default.

You think the tweaking TCP Window is a myth? Well I hate to say it, but that is completely untrue. Try setting it to about 10 and see what kind of speed you get. Judging by the overwhelming responses I assume this is not something that many people have messed with?

10 IS the default already. I get top speed no matter what the transport protocol is. Hence, the myth. Set it to 100, see if you get any faster than you already are.

I must be confused then... TCP Window should be in the 65,000's. Are you sure your not talking about the Window Scaling (which can also hamper performance?)
