Windows 7: LAN problem

Windows 7 RC build 7100
LAN problem

I have been using Windows 7 Beta for a while with no trouble with network, but now that I installed RC the LAN has stopped working... I can't even see my own shares/computer in network... The connection has been tested with 2 different router and both are randomly chosen as unidentified network or home network and neither is showing any other computers in LAN(all sharing options are correct for both computers)

Would be nice to get this working so if you have any ideas how to solve this, much appreciated.

XP/win7 x86 build 7127

Hi Grekon... yes this is a COMMON problem, contrary to what a few ppl may believe.

need some info first... adapter make/model, and what drivers, how did they act with install... did you install drivers manually yourself at all, and use any compatitbility to run them?

I will try and cut to the chase before this may get a little lonnnnnng.

If you can uninstall, reboot, then reinstall drivers, atleast to the point of recognition of the correct adapter, etc. Afterwards, disable the adapter, reboot, then enable it again.. and tell me if you observe any different behaviors of the adapter.

This was done and found to be the resolution, only resolution for myself with this nvidia controller, nforce 4. No matter if a win7 driver, or from nvidia. In the 7000, i HAD to use the drivers from nvidia to work properly and not report the gateway issues and a few other problems that crept up with the win7 driver.

If i were you, i would get your hands on a 7127 copy before you go loading up your system with your likings any further.... unless you want to be brave and try the upgrade. its been reported by a few to correct the problem with using the upgrade option. I can vouch the 7127 fixes these issues, just not the actual driver situation still. I just feel more comfortable knowing its a fresh install, and if any problems arrise, i cant blame it on an upgrade causing it.
