    WOL

Thank You Barman. I noticed that the file is an exe. Are all of the tools in that one file?

Yes all in one tool - of course some are only useful if you run a domain but the important ones runn on any network

One other thing to watch with WOL check the advanced settings for your NIC and ensure that it's turned on there and set to magic packet only and I think it's command station only, to prevent false wakes in win7. this is in addition to the BIOS settings

    Lan Ports

Yeah I looked at my adapters (on mob) and they have settings for the "magic packet"

I had some major issues with some Marvell Yukon NIC's not long ago and had to actually go into the advanced properties to get the things to work properly, even when they were set in the BIOS and the power management - so I always check there too, now :)

    Hit The Wall

Set the Bios to let PCI wake, Set Lan controllers to permit wake and wake on "magic packet". Have changed any advanced settings yet. I wondering if I got a problem with the firewall.

It's possible to set the magic packet port on some systems but the default is port 7 IIRC

It's more likely to be an outgoing port issue on the controlling system or in any routers in the network :)

    Ports

    I have tried 0, 7, and 9. I tried UDP and TC/IP also.

Sounds like the problem I had on the system I mentioned - maybe worth scrolling down the list of additional properties I mentioned, also see if you can get any further info from the NIC manufacturer
