Poor connection, and mouse responsiveness, with Real VNC

    Hi Everyone,

I am using Real VNC to remotely connect to an office computer from home.

The office computer is running Windows 7, and it is connected to the internet through a Thomson ST546 (Modem) whereas the home computer is running Windows XP (SP3) and it is connected through a Motorolla Surfboard Modem SB5100.

Connection speeds at both ends are quite good, with download & upload speeds that are adequate for good operation of the software.

However on the home computer mouse movement is extremely slow (and very jumpy) inside the Real VNC window. Even though I am able to establish a connection it is not a usable one, due to the complete lack of mouse responsiveness.

I have connected to the office computer from an alternative office location (e.g.: different branches) and there has been no issue, as a result I believe that the challenge lies on the home computer side of the equation.

In an attempt to improve the situation I have done the following to my home computer:

    1). Turned off anti-virus protection
2). Turned off the Windows Firewall

However neither of the above actions have helped my situation, if anybody has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Davo
