Let me clarify the problem. Do you mean that Internet Explorer has quit working or are you having issues with your Internet connection?

If it is the former, it could be caused by a number of things including toolbars/plugins, a virus, or a firewall.

Disable (or uninstall) all plugins & toolbars

Run an antivirus scan - try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    Disable Windows Firewall

If my suggestions above are not successful consider...

    SFC /scannow (in command prompt)

Turning IE off (in Windows features), reboot, then turn it back on
Windows Features - Turn On or Off

I recommend using COMODO instead. there is a fully functional freeware copy that will give you near perfect internet security. looks nice, easy interface, and it has a new feature like a testing environment for exe files.

I've noted poor performance and lots of unnecessary flare in Norton protection products, the only good thing I've seen from Norton is Ghost.

    hope i've helped you :)
