    Can't see UPNP devices

    Hi!

I have a few upnp devices on my home network - A Netgear NAS Duo, a Naimuniti, and an Xtreamer Media player.

I've mapped a drive to the NAS on my Windows 7 laptop and this works fine- The Naimuniti and the Xtreamer also can see the NAS and stream music/video etc. and in fact the Xtreamer sees my laptop but Windows 7 does not see the Xtreamer.

I've also installed Tiversity on Windows 7 but this does not see any of the upnp devices.

I've turned off the Windows 7 firewall but still no joy.

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Martin

    Hi

What sort of network do you have, i am having similar probs with upnp devices but am connecting through wireless access point, however when I direct wire into network all seems to be good,W7 treats it as 2 networks so am trying to figure out how it should be configured.XP works fine.

    Hi!

It took me sometime but Windows 7 is now recognising my UPNP devices.

I changed the network order in the "Bridge and Adapter" settings and this seemed to do the trick. There's probably a more simple way to do this but

From the Control panel select Network and Sharing Centre
Change Adapter settings (Left hand side)
Press the ALT key to see menus
    Select Advanced Menu
    Select Advanced Settings
Change Connection settings to required order.

Although I do have wireless access, for streaming films I prefer wired as it is more reliable.

    Cheers,

    Martin

This doesnt seem to help me, my system as i have just found out works fine when hardwired but doesnt recognize upnp devices when using wireless access point as far as i can make out, it is very frustrating as xp computer on same network has no such problems with both running same anti-virus/firewall.Could be you have the same problem but override it with wired connection.I prefer the mobility of the wireless, am only streaming music.
