Simple LAN, no Internet connection, doesn't work
I'm working on a system using a simple TCP/IP LAN with no internet connection. The current system uses Windows XP with a fixed IP address, no DHCP and running a software connecting to sub-components (UNIX and hardware controllers) through TCP/IP. It is setup to handle small real-time data packets that could be easily handled by a 10 years old Windows system.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and setup a simple LAN connection with a fixed IP address and turned of both public and home firewalls off. I'm loosing real-time data packets like crazy. Either the network configuration is wrong (BTW, trying to setup a simple LAN network is a bigger task than trying to connect on a WiFi connection on Win7!) or Windows 7 is trying to "protect" me against my will.
Is there some (relatively) easy documentation on how to setup a simple, stupid, closed LAN with no overprotection from Windows 7?
Thanks!
