Which wireless usb adapter should i buy?

Hello I curintly have an actiontec gateway gt704wg wirless modem that's supplying internet to my e machines desktop windows 7 home premium through an ethernet cable. I will be having a second desktop in a different room & was told that using a wireless adapter, would be better than running ethernet cables across the home... the desktop I will be using the wireless adapter on is windows xp machine and possibly on a windows 7 home premium laptop.

so wich wireless usb adapter would be best for me, for what I have...
I checked out action tech's website and got confused since im new to it, feedback would be great Thanks

Netgear, Asus, Linksys and D-Link are all good. Check Newegg.com for pricing.

    **EDIT**

Oops, you didn't mention your wireless router.

    Buy a Linksys Wireless Router

    and Linksys Usb adapter

I have this one for an old laptop

F5D8053 Belkin N Wireless USB Adapter

I use it for 2000 on a laptop as I said, its very good at connecting, keeping good range and delivering decent speeds. Check if it has X64 drivers.

Hope this helps you decide :)

if you can, try to find an adapter made by the same manufacturer as your router.

there should be less chance of compatibility issues, and also more chance of successful support if things do go wrong - company A can't blame company B...
