D-link DI-524 & Edimax EW-7728ln
I got a Wireless 802.11n Edimax network card for my desktop PC, now it's a good desktop PC with excellent multitasking capabilities like playing 1080 buray rips on one of my dual monitors at the same time as supreme commander on the other, 2 very demanding tasks at once without any problems..
Oh, and it seems that if the reception signal goes down to like 2 bars my computer really slows up..
So you might understand my suprise when i Installed my new wifi card and my computer started stuttering, almost freezing and slowing down with weird loud sparkling crackling noises coming out of my speakers at times.
Frequent drops in connection to the router and or internet.
Whenever i start civ 5 my connection dies, it's like the computer can't handle both at once. it's like the whole cpu is dedicated to the wifi card... i checked the task managers performance monitor and didn't see anything strange.
I reset the router back to factory default and the WPA2 personal AES encryption was removed and now the computer seems perfectly fine at dealing with civ5 and internet at once...
so whats up? shitty wifi card and router? would a nice 120€ cisco router solve my problems? because now my wifi lan is unencrypted.
i got windows 7 x64
