Connecting Win7 laptop to home network...

    Could use a little help.

    Setup:
    Desktop computer Vista
    Laptop computer Win 7

On my network (wireless), my Desktop can find and use everything that is on my Laptop computer.

When I try to find or map out the Desktop from the Laptop, the Laptop cannot see my desktop at all (eg in the Network "explorer-type" window in Win7) .

I've checked my firewall settings, and my sharing properties on both computers, but I think I missing some setting somewhere that will let me connect from the Laptop to the Desktop (so that I can use my Desktop printer).

    Help would be appreciated.

Are both PCs within the same workgroup? I don't mean HomeGroup but workgroup (XP style). Double check your sharing optons on both PCs. Sounds like your doing simple file sharing so disable password protection, disable public sharing, enable network discovery, enable file/print sharing. This is a start.

Use the Homegroup, it's IPV6 and outrageously easy to setup. But yes, first thing is to make sure you're all running the same workgroup.
