    W7 lost internet connection

I puzzled this afternoon with making a new disk partition, and during this I booted up on a Partedmagic Linux CD.

However, when I booted up the machine normally via my harddisk, everything seemed normal, but no internet connection. I tried to repair via W7's build in help, but to no avail.

I then tested the network by plugging in a XP-box on the same ethernet cable (works fine), I re-booted the router and restarted my W7-box. But no internet!

Does the above ring a bell for anyone? I seem to be unable to get the connection back, and I simply don't know what to do to achieve this.

Can we get the specifications for your pc?

Hopefully it will be as simple as reinstalling your ethernet drivers

    - w7 home premium 32 bit
    - Realtek RTL8191SU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 network adapter (I assume this card is also used for cabled connections - no other cards are shown in device manager)
    Other information needed?

If I run a config/all it says "disconnected" for the network cards. So no contact to the DHCP server either it seems.

Looks like the computer isn't even recognizing the ethernet card...

Can I get the model and manufacturer of your computer?

It's a Medion Akoya P4360 D (MD 8343). This model is sold in Denmark and germany and here are some specs (unfortunately in Danish): ALDI OFFER 01

Should say that the network connection has worked just perfect until this afternoon. The only thing that I would suspect could have caused this would be that I compacted the C-drive to make an extra partition (after a defrag), tried to create a partition in the free space using W7 (failed), then tried to create a partition using Partedmagic (failed as there seem to be 4 primary partitions already). Maybe the compacting has damaged some drivers?
