Bing Server 2008 and you will find one. I am no Network Engineer and tired to mess with Server 2008. I was above me. That is why I suggested Windows Home Server. It is easy to setup and get your computers connected.

    Good luck and have fun.

I went with server 2008 because a friend of mine had a copy and was willing to let me use it because he had no need for it anymore, and the windows home server I don't have money to buy right now. I will have to look around for a forum later, right now I am past the point of being tired and need to get some sleep.

Server 2008 is relatively simple to configure and also a reliable Server OS.

Yep, I'd agree with that. The only server OS I like better is Server 2008 R2, but Server 2008 would do the job just fine.

Err... read again, FreeNAS is available for both 32bit (i386 edition) and 64bit (amd64 edition).

err, well regardless I have already gone with windows server 2008 standard as my OS for the server, I may change things up down the road just to see what it has to offer but I have already finished the install for server 2008. You are right however, I did misread the page. This is just a sample of what happens when a person has been working third shift for many years and tries to function in the early morning when tired lol.. While I am on the subject of server 2008 does anyone here know of a forum I can go to for advice on it or does this forum discuss such things?
We run 2008 Enterprise here. I would think networking might be the place for it, but maybe not.

    Good luck with your installation...

I personally use Linux for personal/professional server use. It's waaaaayyy less headache than any Windows Server Edition. Don't get me wrong, I do like Windows Server, it is good and stable, but for long term use... I'd use Linux in a heartbeat. My current server installation's up time is 14++ months.

Oh, and we have a SUSE Linux Server. Like you said, it's pretty much hands free operation.

Same here, still plowing away since 14 months ago (well, it's closer to 15months now) since it's last boot up...
