It's really appriciated the help from you. I would also like thank the Synology support desk. There are a lot of complaints about lack of support from various brands but not from these guys.

There are many other works arounds for this problem in the link below but this one seems to be working the best. Hope it helps.

First start an administrator console by entering cmd into the searchbox on the start menu, right click the little icon and choose "run as administrator".

In the console enter the following commands to change the MTU:

Type into command window "netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces" without the quotes. Take note of the id number of the wireless interface.

Then to change to mtu 1460 use the following command.

"netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface id mtu=1460 store=persistent"

Thanks for your help - I bookmarked this thread months ago, and have used this information successfully a couple of times. However, I just got a new laptop (win7 Pro, 64) and when I enter the "netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface id mtu=1460 store=persistent" it comes back with "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." Any idea what's up with that?
