    Win7 and XP sharing

I have a Win7 laptop and XP pro desktop that were sharing some folders before the laptop got upgraded from Vista to 7. No I cannot access any of the shared folders on my XP from the laptop. When I type \\xpName it tells me it can't find the specified path. Ping test gets me replies. Switching the firewalls off doesn't help. Strangely enough I can still access a folder I'm sharing on the laptop. Bothe the computers are members of the same workgroup. Any ideas?

This can actually be a whole bunch of different problems and it's impossible to say which one it might be. This Technet thread talks about the problem and shows many solutions that have worked for others.

To narrow it down what if I say that the only traffic the XP machine can see when I'm trying to access a share from the Win 7 is HTTP [SYN] requests? No responses from the XP to these requests. No SMB.
