I noticed a LOT of posts here referring to speedtest.net.
I hope most of you have looked at other sources, too.
I noticed, after I installed DDWRT on my Linksys E3000 (Don't you DARE call it a Cisco E3000!!!) that Speedtest.net is VERY quirky,
I noticed that at first, the bandwidth will peak VERY high on my 7Mbps cable connection....say up to 30 Mbps....and then quickly settles down to realistic speeds (closer to 7Mbps), but Speedtest.net seems to want to "average" the overall speed, so I end up with something like 23Mbps tested download speed, all the time I only peaked up real high for a split second, and DDWRT on my router shows that most of the time, the speed was OBVIOUSLY capped at 7Mbps.
I hope you all have some better utilities you can install to see the REAL bandwidth you are getting.............
If you are basing your findings solely on speedtest.net, you are having the wool pulled over your eyes. Plain and simple...............

nice. 3 sources, 2 of which are speedtest.net, and most likely all are using the same pissant Java applet as the backend. Well, ultimately, if you are happy, then that is all that matters. Ignorance is BLISS!!! Enjoy!!
