Just had an uplift in speed in the UK
Am happy as before I swapped ISP to 40/10Mb I was getting 1.5/1.0Mb and just a little over a year see above. Pay £26/month
iechyd da
The connection I am paying for is a 25/5 Unlimited Bandwidth
sorry just noticed your post.
BT charge £35 for 100mb unlimited
as we paid £25 per month previously for an unlimited 8mb connection then the extra tenner is well worth it.
they do a 40mb for £25 but these speeds are to double in a few months.
seems like 60mb for £17 from virgin is a good deal.
My currently speed is : Download - 5.17Mbps , Upload - 0.72Mbps, Ping - 15ms (on SpeedTest.net).
I paid for : Download - 6.5Mpbs , Upload - 1Mbps.
No worries Boohbah, just good to compare the market sometimes, Virgin has had fibre optic for ages but hasn't really taken advantage of it.
They have quite a severe usage limit though and when i was on 10MB I often found that my internet speeds were 1.98MB, thankfully since the upgrade I think I am now allowed 20GB a day, I was watching top gear in HD and that must have been using like 4 or 5gb of data cause I kept getting capped.
60MB with the doubling should be good but they do need to work on the uploads!
Virgin do have the far superior product though.
Bad TM on Virgin is my understanding. TM on BT is p2p at peak hours. The only time I've had a speed problem was when they uplifted my last Friday when I went from 38/9Mb to 75/16Mb, have not suffered any congestion problems either, in fact my Cab is now full (200 Slots)and they have put in another new 1. as I said a yr ago £7.50 for 1.5Mb / 1.0Mb and now £26 for 75Mb / 16Mb no contest in my book
something i had never seen before because of such a poor speed ,is that on youtube when watching a video, placing the cursor on the progress bar will show a thumbnail preview of the frame .
i didnt know that was a feature until now. not seen before it in 5 years of using youtube.
