    FWIW...

I used to be with TPG.. Worst customer service in the state. I am 250m from the
nearest fibre trunk so I got max speeds of 21mbit. With TPG, I had a problem around every 5 - 6 weeks.

I am now on Dodo. On average there is a problem everyday where the service is degraded by at least 60% (20mbit down to 8mbit). On average it drops below 4mbit every 4 days, and around every three weeks it goes below 2mbit.

I am on the same DLSAM I was on with TPG, same exchange, same everything. Only thing that is different after the CHURN was the routing of traffic through DODO's servers.

DODO's attitude is that any service greater than 2mbit is acceptable and won't take problems or complaints on board. Conveniently, they deny that anything below 2mbit never happened.

Clearly you get what you pay for. TPG is $60 per month for 200gb, DODO is $40 for unlimited... Errr, that's unlimited problems

As with most ISPs in Victoria, possibly Australia, uploads are capped to an attrocious 0.73 mb (around 90 KBps).

    Ahhh... Isn't life wonderful

Tanya, I'm on BigPuddle wireless, $60/month for 8GB (then slowed to dialup speed!).

Download speed is NEVER above 1.2Mb/sec, and uploading is even slower.

Yes, I get that alot of people have services that are far worse than what I have got. I guess I'm spolied. I used to have a dedicated ISDN connection, then I was on cable. I haven't been on a connection slower than 8 Mbps since the end of the last century..

But I feel for all people who have terrible services, especially those who have few to no options.

Do you have options? Surely Canberra has more to offer than BigPuddle?

WoW The poms have better BB speed than The Oz's unbelievable by the way I'm a Taff .
As I said before it was my understanding that the UK had a bad rep. for BB speed but boy oh boy was I wrong.

TanyaC you are paying about the same as me for your 20/0.72Mb, Your TM/Cap is very bad for an unlimited package.

Katanyavich your package is worst than a lot I've seen, D/L cap of 8Gb a month for that price wow

just checked and I've used 134.71GB this month so your 8GB a month would be no goog for me.

One provider in Canada offers really fast Internet for a very reasonable price, 300mbps for $102 with a 1tb monthly cap
Here in Virginia, Cox offers 50mbps for $90/month for 1 year, then $130/month thereafter.
We have the 25meg package for $54.

I'm in the process of switching to ADSL2 at the moment.

Same price, but a better limit, better speed, and a land-line.

I do like the convenience of wireless, tho.
