    Big Tom,
Over the pond it look's like only 1 isp has started trials on docsis 3.0 and so there's not much information about yet. I can see from a speed table on this that it can deliver a high speed.

    Contract for 18 months ?
Then your kinda fubar if another competition decided to provide you with better connection tbh
not really, we had our fiber connection installed a couple of months ago, on an 18 month contract, so renewing it to 18 months again will only extend our existing contract by two months.
for up to 6 months at 300mbnot a bad deal in my eyes.
its the up to bit im dubious about. that could be anything from a week at 300 to 6 months at 300.
we will have to see what they offer in terms of time scale before i do renew.

and a free month too, well done BT thanks
    Dear BT Infinity Customer

Thank you very much for agreeing to join the trial of higher speed BT Infinity. If you are willing to help us improve our fault diagnosis processes we would like you to join our trial within 1-3 weeks, in the phase of the trial which is normally open only to BT employees.

Initially we would like you to trial our 160Mbps product, with the opportunity to trial our 300Mbps product later.

We ask that you to agree to contact or be contacted by our help desk to talk so that they can go through our revised diagnostic procedures (we will provide the necessary contact details). This phone call could take up to 20 mins and will be extremely valuable to us in our plans to improve the customer experience of BT Infinity.

If you are happy to do this, we will give you 1 month's free rental of BT Infinity 100Mb (worht £35). This will show up as a credit on your bill, a month after you have been upgraded.

Please let me know if you are happy to do this,
    Many thanks again,

    Regards

    BT Retail Fibre Trial Team

Does anyone in the UK know when FTTP is going to be rolled out in the UK, and what speeds it will provide?

    Bomber,
It's already in 15 UK exchanges and they are starting trials as boohbah has shown, between now and Spring 2013 is the best I could find.
