Thanks, rcn is fantastic in my area which is why I've been with them for over a decade. No caps and no fuss no matter how bad i abuse it
But looking at my test history it seems like things improved a little around the time I switched to the intel nic. Not saying its definitely the reason but things seem to flow smoother since. It was cheapest one available at newegg -$22 i think.

Sorry what's BB? These are their standalone prices; they're a little cheaper if you bundle with another service

    Zahl,
Sorry BB= BroadBand, FTTC = Fibre To The Cab, FTTP/H= Fibre To The Premises/Home/House, That's how we say it over the pond, you have any limits on downloads? The top package is nearly Twice the cost of my package.

Doh sorry i missed that But yes the US is pretty bad with speeds and prices If you think that rcn is bad you should see comcast's prices and they have a super crappy 250GB monthly cap! RCN is insanely cheaper with no caps or throttles and no useless powerboost crap. I have passed the TB mark quite a few times in a month which means no chance of ever using anyone else

Feast your eyes on these prices with caps and throttles thrown in

    Zahl,
um I'm lost for words with comcast $200 for 105Mb speed with 250Gb usage limit. Here it's $57 for 100Mb speed unlimited usage.
1TB in a month download wow that is some amount, here's me thinking my average 130Gb a month is high , Just been on a forum and a guy there is worried that he has used 11Gb this month lol

Yup its definitely sad and disgusting But I am not alone in the house and everyone goes ballistic with buying games and such online and as long as it's legal i don't care how much they download.
But downloading that much is very rare for us but at times have gone way over it too. I think we probably use around 200GB a month -too close for a cap from comcast. Last month I rocked it when i lost my steam hd and had to redownload everything. If I was on comcast just downloading my steam collection would have taken me over five months with no other usage at all. These days buying two nice games online can use up well over 30gb of a cap which is why its crazy to have one in the first place

Jeff, OK np any reason why your speed gets capped??

    Zahl,
Putting usage caps on lines is just another way for ISPs to get more money off it's customers, and as we all know ISPs will say no no no that's wrong it's to protect the network lol.
