I wasn't under the impression that's what I was paying for, I didn't op for the full 50Mb/s pacjage, just the 22, which is really 30(supposedly). But I got a big smile on my face when everything was hoocked up, and I went to test it for the first time! :)

Time Warner's finally fixed the gain problems in my neck of the woods. I'm sure signal problems will return within a few weeks and I'll be stuck thinking yet again why government-sponsored broadband contract monopolies in an area are a bad thing, but at least I'm getting what I pay for at the moment.

    </sigh>.

No, Charlotte NC. It's been awful here since about May, and it's only cleaned up in the last 48 hours (minus some weather we just had). It was awful, and it wasn't just the internet connection - cable boxes couldn't handle HD video without huge lag, stutter, or total channel loss, digital phone would of course drop out as well regularly (killed that POS service when this started and switched to cell only), and the only thing they'd do is roll a truck to let us know "everything's fine!". Yeah, if you consider their normal crappy service as fine, then everything's fine. Unfortunately switching to satellite wouldn't fix the internet access problem (and frankly, I don't watch much TV anymore thanks to streaming video sites, netflix, etc). What I'm guessing is they hugely oversold their southeastern capacity, had some sort of major equipment failure, and have been scrambling to fix it silently. It's just a guess, but it's the only thing I can think of to explain horrid service that folks have been complaining about all over the southeast since the beginning of the summer.

Didn't comcast buy out RR? That's why all their equipment would be substandard. Comcast is already working on F/O for Chicago area. And, are finishing up some major installations in Baltimore, and N.E. area. Sounds like cable's going to be your only option for a while, then.

@willowhoop that ping at 55 is not to bad considering i seen much worse in game play some people have a high ping of 150+ but i know what you mean you would love to take full advantage of what your system could really do with that speed
