    Upload with Http post problem

    Hi there,

Hope anyone out there might help me out with this strange problem.
Well at least it's very strange to me.

I have a computer (dell laptop with intel network card) in a side-office that has major problems uploading files via http post fuction on the web.
Well files that is around 300-500kb is working ok but bigger files aint working at all.

What happens is when I post a file via a brows for file, pick a local file of lets say 1MB and press upload (a normal http post on https or http doesnt matter) it tries but keep on getting timeouts.

I have now checked/monitored the traffic a bit and dont know why but it uploads the file for a very short time, then it just stops/freezes and keeps on "loading/uploading/or whatever" regardnig the status green bar that comes in IE.

I have tried IE 7 and 8 and as well FF and non of them works with uploading larger files then 500kb.

Anyone knows if there might be something regarding windows 7 and some mix with updates or someting maybe as well Intel?? Since Im as well running more windows 7 in another office and that works ok.
The same office as the non-working windows 7 has the rest windows xp and it works ok for them as well so it doesnt seems like its a lan problem.

I have tried to reset the ethernet with netsh without any results.

Im clueless at the moment so hope I might find my luck here with some ideas or so.

    Regards

    Fredrik G

Going to add some more information:

zigzag3143: None of them, the computer is in a ad domain network.

Computer is a Dell Latitude E6400
    Memory: 4GB Ram
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Processor: Intel Core Duo CPU T9600 @ 2.800GHz
Network: Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Card

The thing is the problem I have is just strange since it works ok on internet.
It's not a problem doing FTP or copy with(from <-> to) smb/windows shares.
Just problem when trying to upload lets say a jpg or big word document via web with http post function.

As an example 2shared - file upload
That site uses kind of the same thing as I have problems with.
I pick a 200kb word file and uploads it without any problem.
When I upload a file that is > 550kb it uploads as that site shows around 40-60% then I see the speed (kb/sec) goes down without anything happens and after a short time I get a timeout.

    Example:

    Upload with Http post problem-1mbfailed.jpg

What happens is this above here shows that its a 1MB file.
Uploaded 66% (stalled is not moving at all)
The time will continue to go up until timeout.
the Transfer rate went up to around 180KB/Sec and then just went down slowly to at the moment 0kb/sec without moving from 66% or change the 678KB size.

We are running some internal systems that works kind of the same way with uploading som files to our "file archive" with both small and big files.
And that is on our LAN so it doesnt matter if it's "local" or out there on the internet.

    Hi.

I just solved the same problem as you describe. It was the firewall which blocked ICMP. ICMP should be permitted by the firewall. Read here:

[SOLVED] Upload to server SOMETIMES stops at app. 64 kb. WHY?

    Cheers,
    Peter.
