Internet stops working intermittently on wireless

    Hi,
I am using Linksys WRT54GL v1.1(firmware version 4.30.14 , 2.4GHz) router with my Delll Inspiron 1525 laptop running on Windows7 OS.I am using Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card driver version 4.170.25.17. I can connect on wireless and browse internet for few min after which internet stops working. It doesn't gets disconnected from router but no web page opens. After 10-15 seconds, internet starts working on its own. The dns ip is 192.168.2.1. Following is the ping output during that time:

I tried all the options given in other forums (firmware upgrade, driver reinstallation, homegroup disabling, static ip options, disabling uPnP on router, disabling other network adapters, registry edit for DhcpConnBroadcastToggle, changing power option for wireless, hard reset to router etc.) but none of them helped. I tried using wired connection also but same thing is happening. I have another HP laptop with Windows XP and that is running fine with no issues on wireless.Even while writing this post, internet stopped working. Can anyone please help me how to resolve this issue. By the way, there is no cordless phone nearby working at 2.4GHz frequency.

    Hi,

I guess I have found the solution. Please check the following to see if it resolves your issue (worked in my case) :

    1) Login to the linksys router WRT54GL (type 192.168.1.1 in IE and use admin/admin to log in.)
    2) Go to Wireless tab. Note the Wireless Network Mode. Normally it is set as "MIXED"
    3) On your laptop, click on wiress icon in taskbar, go to Open Network And Sharing Center>> Change adapter settings>>right click on wireless adapter >> properties >> Configure >> Advanced tab. Scroll down to select "IBSS Mode" and check the Value on right side. It should be same same as that of router (I set to 802.11b/g auto from drop down list). Click Ok to save the settings.
    4) Restart your wireless and it should work.

Also make sure that your computer is not disabling the wireless adapter when it's idle.
