Now the problem is reoccurring every 20minutes. The internet sign will show it trying to identify a network, it disconnects and then reconnects again. Should I try what SolarWind suggested? since chev65 says its not related to windows 7. The only anti virus I use is avg, spybot and malware, and I think windows defender is on my computer. I did a virus scan and found nothing. This problem just started occurring a couple of days ago, everything was working completely fine. Orbital Shark, even thought the router is wireless, it is connected to my computer using an Ethernet cable, so will your solution work? I can't seem to figure this out. . I haven't tried your suggestion yet solar wind, but how do you access BIOS cause I tried pressing f12, and esc, and they seem to take me to safe mode or system recovering and other things. All of your help is appreciated. As well, I updated the Ethernet adapter just now, and the problem is still occurring.

Um, what does that mean? I think I have a road runner cable internet, since there's a cable that comes from outside, they drilled a hole into the room and now its connected to the modem. I use Rogers.

well, Rogers could be your provider. You might want to check with them and see if any services is being done in your area or about outages. You could do a test like I just did and started a video on hulu and then watched the cable modem lights and about 3 mins into the video the cable modem lost connection. This could be a issue for you too.

You could also try connection to your modem directly and leaving your router out of it and if the issues stay then you know its your router. I am about to try that test myself.

I'll try connecting it to the modem directly and see if the problems occurs with the modem. If it doesn't occur, then it means something is wrong with the router right?

Well my results are interesting, the load on the modem isn't disconnecting it now that my router is out of the loop. Now for me to figure out why my router would reset the cable modem. going to leave the video playing a while since I have had time where I could stay connected for about 20-30 mins so now doing the time test but when my router was in the loop either via wired connection or wireless it would drop under load or after a amount of time( which I didn't time between)
