Wake on lan a computer over the internet.

    hey guys.
i would like to know if its possible to wake up my desktop computer
from another computer not in the same network.

is this possible? i found some guides in the internet instructing to put an ip address and mac address.
    but it won't work.

note: i am working with static ip.
and i have edimax br-6204wg router.

    thanks :)

It can be done, I managed it using a site called makeonlan.me, for some reason i cant get it to work any more, i cant remember full details but i had to forward a port on my router. Ill have a look when i get home see what i had to do.
I also managed it from my phone using a wake on lan app, im also using dynamic dns.

thanks a lot for you're help.
i know this site but i couldn't get it to work.
maybe its the port issue, i've seen it uses a 7 or 9 port.

just to be sure, you managed to do it while not connected to the same network right?
