    Printer Sharing issues

Main PC upstairs wired to the printer.

Homegroup has been set up and everything has been set up to share with my downstairs PC.

I can see the Printer from downstairs but cant seem to connect to it?

Any ideas on what to Check

    Thanks

When you attempt to connect, what happens next?
Are you prompted for a username and password or asked for drivers. Are both PCs using the same version of Win7 meaning 32 or 64bit?

Wired printer using 64bit wireless using 32bit.

Could bit be to do the strength of the wireless signal?

    I thought I had!!!!!!

Do both computers have same user name and password and like Pat asked are they the same version of 32 or 64 bit? - NO, NO 64bit and 32 bit

When you attempt to connect, what happens next? - When I attemptto connect to either of them it says windows is unable to connect

Are you prompted for a username and password or asked for drivers. Are both PCs using the same version of Win7 meaning 32 or 64bit? No, NO 64bit and 32 bit

    Maybe that is clearer

Sorry kwack. I need to work on my reading skills. My apologies.

How about posting the ipconfig /all information for both computers. That may help. Here is an easy way to do it.

Click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as show, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

You can edit out any information you don't want us to see, but if you're behind a router it really doesn't matter though you could x out the Physical (MAC) address.
