    @ Meso

I didn't mention it in my previous posts, because I don't want to use it. But uPNP works on the Ziova with Windows 7 RC x64. Regular network shares do not.

I assume that uPNP is working for you too.

yes mate it is, but like you I dont want to use uPNP I was quite happy using SMB. The mrs had finally got the hang aswell. (and this is starting to become interesting uPNP would be quitting)

Did you have any luck with jkkw link - I cannot find anyway to uninstall online live ID? It is not listed as a component of any program...

I have tried so many local policy settings it's really getting silly - I'm just installing wireshark hopefully that will shed some light on whats going on.

After Ziova request lists of shares - NetshareEnum Request

    Windows 7 Returns
19 4.232497 10.10.10.3 10.10.10.4 SMB Trans Response, Error: Request unsupported, returned by Win 95

So problem is to do with way W7 responds to sharenum request

    Now to work out why..

Couldn´t find anything to uninstall regarding online live ID either.

My next thought was to install wireshark as well. Now you already have.

I agree uPNP would be giving up. I'll see what I can find out. This is what I do at work after all.

I assume that 10.10.10.3 and 10.10.10.4 are your Ziova and Windows 7 machines. It is not even getting to the authentication part of the exchange.

It is starting to look like a flaw in Windows 7 NetBios implementation. Can you post the actual NetshareEnum Request from the Ziova machine or the full capture of the exchange?

Having the exact same problem with my Netgear EVA9150. Works great with XP and Vista but I can't connect to any W7 shares. It too uses SMB to connect to the network shares.

    Any other suggestions?

Have any of you tried with a more recent build?
I am waiting for the RTM release before I test again.

7229. No change from 7100. Another user in the Netgear forum claimed to has it working by disabled IpV6. I was skeptical and tried it and it did not work. I did a quick WireShark trace and saw an SMB packet that had "ACCESS_DENIED". But I did not have enough time to follow the packet chain and see exactly what was happening.

actually the interesting thing is this - on Ziova i still have some favorites saved which i used on my old XP box, these are in form of \\pcname\share\path. as i have retained the same PC name and share names in W7, these favorites do work when accessing W7 shares! however when browsing Local Network\pcname is says 0 shares found...
