    Renaming My Computer

I just bought a new Win7 computer. Had a heck of a time logging into it from my other computers.

    Finally got on.

Found my username was DougsDell.......-PC\Doug's Dell.......580

Can I change both names DougsDell.......-PC and Doug's Dell.......580. Want to simplify things.

Also, do I have to have a password to log in to the computer itself? It's just my family here and don't want to go through logging a password in each time I turn on the computer.

And lastly, do I have to have a password for the first time each day I get on to one computers files through the other one. When I click on a folder on another networked computer it makes me log in with user name a password. I'd like to eliminate that.

Yeah, you're not supposed to rename account-linked folders. You can rename your account from Control Panel but that only changes the displayed name, the folder name remains the same.
