limited access - wireless network

Hi Everyone!

Am having some problems with my new computer with internet access. It is becoming very painful!!!

I am using win 7 64 bit pro (desktop).
Tenda W322P Wireless N PCI Adapter - just using windows driver for it.

Connecting wirelessly to netgear router/modem.

Can access the same modem wirelessly with laptop.

My knowledge of networking is limited but I am po
sting the ipconfig /all

The problem I have is internittant access - sometimes can connect - sometimes can't. Tried ipconfig /flushdns(/renew) and ipconfig /release (/renew) with some success last night but not today.

any thoughts?

Add your default gateway under IPV4 properties and see if that helps...

Thanks for the reply DMholt57

Stupid question though.

How do I add the default gateway to IPV4?

Thanks again

In the wireless network connection properties, you will find internet protocol version 4(IPv4). Highlight by clicking it, then select the properties button below. In the next window, use the Advanced button, and click add at the window at bottom. Hope this helps...

Thanks again.

I am at the "tcp/ip gateway address" screen.

Don't know what numbers to put in though.

any ideas?

This would be your routers address, usually similar to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, I believe it is .0.1 for Netgear routers.

Have you setup the wireless network using an ethernet cable first?
