Alright.
I will try my hardest to help you with your current configuration.
Just to be sure of your current configuration,
You have the internet that comes into one pc,
then from that pc you have an ethernet cable that connects to another pc.
Is this correct?
yep, u got it..
i even got a PC3 connected the same way to PC2 since all my mobos got dual-gigabit NIC's.. i use it for parallel computing with my 3D renderings..
works like a charm..
like i said, its an internal IP (192.168.0.213)..
I had to ensure it was not a 169.*.*.* address.
Since you do not have a router, I am assuming it is statically set?
if it were 169.* i wouldnt be able to connect to it from PC1, or do my parallel computing stuff, or even have internet..
i dont know if its statically set or if it changes on occasion, or whether that matters eitherway..
it is set to obtain it automatically..
I am sorry,
Low post count automatic assumption of low technical ability :P
I am assuming you have check your firewall(ports open)?
Have you ensured this is configured correctly - link?
Are you trying to connect via hostname or ip?
