any idea
It's working for me but you can use your command prompt for this.

Type the following commands one at a time into your command prompt, hit "enter" after each one, run as admin then restart the machine.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
This was extremely helpful at work today, thanks again!

Yes those simple commands come in handy for fixing various problems with the network, I'm glad I could help.

Click Start, on search box, and then type devmgmt.msc press enter. From Device Manager, locate the Network Adapters, expand it. Do you see any ! X or ? symbols. You may a sprint screen if you want and post it here.

From the troublesome computer verify that all your network services are Started from Control Panel=> Admin Tools=> Services:
COM+ Event System (for WZC issues)
Computer Browser
DHCP Client
DNS Client
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Server
TCP/IP Netbios helper
Wireless Zero Configuration ( XP wireless configurations only)
WLAN AutoConfig ( Vista wireless configurations only)
Workstation

Please let us know.
Posting here to let anyone who finds this thread know that this is what you should check first if you have this issue come up. I did this to myself my shutting down services and I must have clicked a wrong one.....4 hours spent searching and finally I did this and it worked right away.

I had the exact problem described here -

Dependency service or group failed to start

Took the advice posted here and restored to a week-old restore point. The latest was also no good, so I used the one before that. I'm happy to report this fixed the problem and I was able to get on the internet again. This post was 200+ days old but I wanted to leave this post anyway just to confirm that restoring to a prior restore point does fix it. Thanks.

Try running this batch file which will reset winsock, reset the TCP/IP stack and release renew your IP.

Download Renew IP + Reset Winsock Batch File

If that doesn't fix the problem please post a screen shot of your ipconfig /all .

Chev, I don't know if you're still around but...

THANK YOU.

I have a MASSIVE grant proposal due tomorrow and OF COURSE things have to happen to prevent that.

If you lived close, i'd buy you a damn beer. Thanks man.

Same problem different fix

didn't work:
netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
sfc /scannow failed (normal boot or safe mode)
DSIM failed (normal boot or safe mode)
rollback went through but did not fix issue
Uninstall of KB3022345 went though, but didn't fix sfc or dsim.

THIS WORKED:

net localgroup Administrators /add networkservice
net localgroup Administrators /add localservice

Can access network/share folders instantly. Restart for internet access.

I had a VP sitting behind me for two hours on a Friday evening after hours waiting for me to fix his laptop. This helped after the drivers from IBM didn't help. Thanks again, Quiznos!!
