Stumped on Windows7 network problem-Help is appreciated
Greetings all,
Reluctantly, I've returned to see if I can get some great minds to help me out here.
I've got an unusual problem and I've tried just about everything there is to fix this.
I have a laptop AND a desktop both running Windows 7 Ultimate. The laptop used to be able to connect to the network drive on the desktop, but now I am getting:
Error code 0x80070035 The network path cannot be found.
The desktop can access all shared files on the laptop. The laptop can ping the desktop by its network name and IP address just fine, but it cannot access the shared drive.
Both computers are running Avast and I've tried to disable Avast and also the firewall, but I'm thinking this is not the problem because I can ping the desktop.
I've triple checked all network protocols, checked the network stack on both machines. There's nothing missing or out of place.
Anyone have any idea why the network drive is suddenly not accessible from the laptop? I'm stumped and have tried everything.
Thanks in advance for any help.
