Thumbs Up To Belkin Support

I have posted my share of requests for help and answers to some others over the years on all kind of forums and sometimes we overlook giving credit where credit is due.

I just upgraded this machine from Vista 32 to Win7 64 and experienced problems with my Belkin Express-card F5D8073 N wireless adapter. Long story short I was experiencing all kinds of anomalies.

On a Sunday, I emailed Belkin support prompting for Win 7 drivers not listed on their site and in one hour I had a reply with the solution.

The solution was to try compatibility mode. I should have known and will in the future but it saved my bacon.

Incase this comes up in a search for someone, if you are using the same card get the driver from their site and:

1. Right click on the executable file
2. Click Trouble shoot compatibility
3. Select recommended settings and install.

My recommended setting was XP SP2 x64. DONE!

That is the fastest email response I ever heard of.
Good to hear good things about a company.

Usually it is "I've been waiting a week and no answer..."

Glad you got it fixed also.

thumbs.db and desktop.ini?
I always encounter these two very common files in my computer - thumbs.db and desktop.ini. I've been seeing these files ever since we have our computer from the days of Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and now that we have Windows 7 as our pc's OS, I still see these files. What...

Thumbs.db files
I'm not sure exactly where to post this, so I figure it is a performance issue so I would try it here. For some reason my desktop and in my folders I am starting to show thumbs.db files where I never did before. I am able to get rid of them over time, but it is really a pain in the neck to do it....

Another thumbs up for Logitech Support
We have a 4+ year old Logitech MX Revolution mouse that started to have issues with the left click. You click and hold to drag something and it would drop it and then re-click, all while you were still holding down the left mouse button. Called up Logitech to see what they would do, I figured...
