    Mapped Drive Shortcut Don't work!!!

I have 2 computers, both Win 7 Ulitmate x64, one for kids, one for parent. I just want Kid's computer to share Parent's Computer's 2nd Drive (d: drive in this case). So I gave full share permission to the d: drive. Then in kid's computer, I mapped the d: drive. It's working perfectly fine. I can add any file to the d: drive, kid's can go to Computer (or My Computer) and d: drive is there, they can open it, transfer the file.

Here comes the problem. I created a shortcut to the mapped d: drive on the desktop of kid's computer so they can access to d: drive without opening Computer (or My Computer). When I double click the shortcut, the d: drive opens up but nothing's there!!! No file, nothing!!! When I go to Computer and open D: drive, the file is there!!! It's really strange!! It's like the shortcut don't work.

I've done this on XP and MAC before. Worked like charm. I don't understand!

    Thanks a bunch!

The mapped network drive shortcuts need to be made a certain way in Windows 7. The tutorial below shows you how. :)
