Win xp 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit

Ok here it goes i have the xp setup as home network i enabled file and print sharing on and the win 7 connects fine with the xp and i can see the printer from the xp machine but i can't print everytime i try to print from win 7 machine it doesn't do anything and freezes up printer and i have to restart printer for xp machine to print.. *(the printer is hooked up to the win xp box with USB cable) can someone help with this i am using the printer brother 9840cdw

    next

Yes i have windows xp drivers directly from brother and win 7 drivers as well the weird thing is that i am able to see pc from win 7 and printer i right click connect and it does.. but i click print and it shows up in printer display but goes away quickly i get no error's at all either

Than i changed windows 7 to workplace group instead of home for win xp and they still don't want to ping

today and i hooked the printer to wireless router and had it networked it printed on the one that has usb connection and than tried the win 7 one *(remember i hooked it up to wireless so i changed all the settings)* it printed once than it didn't want to print anymore. I checked troubleshot printer and no problems came up i was also able to ping the printer from both win xp 32 and win 7 64 so i know they can talk to each other. Another thing printer says toner end life would that matter?

The toner end of life message could be "A" problem, but I wouldn't call it "THE" problem.

I'm more interested in your network issues.
How does each computer connect to the network ??
    What does
    Code:
    ipconfig /all
    show on each computer ??
What's the IP of the printer ??
Did you disconnect the USB cable before connecting it to the network ??

Let's start with that information and go from there.
