WAKE ON LAN - Oh I really need help!
Spent hours on this and still no progress.
1. Windows 7 Ultimate as the host that I want to start up over the LAN.
2. Belkin router.
3. Laptop with Windows 7 Professional as the client.
In the BIOS of my ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, I have both "Power On By PCI Devices" and "Power On By PCIE Devices" enabled.
Under Power Management, I have "Allow this device to turn on the computer" checked.
While I want to eventually start this computer from a remote location outside of my home, right now I just want to get it working from within my LAN.
My power supply is rated at 2.5A for the +5VSB. There is a light on my motherboard even when the computer is off, and the NIC also has a activity light that is active.
I've downloaded several programs and tried to start my computer by using its MAC address.
I don't know if this is relevant, but I can start my computer when in SLEEP mode by clicking the mouse.
My objective right now is not to start this from SLEEP, but from shutdown.
Can anyone think of what I am not doing correctly?
Thanks.
