What the heck happenend to my router?

Hi,
I've had a basic G Netgear Wireless Router for about a year and a half. I updated the version today at routerlogin.net. All of a sudden my router rebooted. (which is normal) Now, two hours later it is still rebooting. I've tried unplugging and resetting it but nothing seems to work. I am connecting through the internet by a modem and ethernet cable and I would love to have my wireless back. I plan to just buy a new one if no one can solve it .
