    Internet not working

    Hi Guys!

First of all, Happy Holidays to everyone!

I'm having a problem with me connecting to the internet. I just came back from Afghanistan a couple of days ago. The moment i arrived home, I tried to connect to my router and successfully connected right away. It says that it has internet access and all that but when i click on my browser and tried updating my anti-virus, it didn't work at all. My laptop is connected to the router that says "Internet Access" yet I wasn't able to connect to the internet. I even restore my laptop to the last time I knew it was working (connecting to the internet) which was dated when I was still back in Afghanistan. I remember a window had popped out when I was at Dallas Airport (something babylon) it it became my default website for some reason and i wasn't even sure if I installed it before. Please help. I know, you guys are busy coz of the Holidays but I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks a lot guys!

have you tried to run a scan anyway it might detect enough to cripple it enough to connect to the internet....might also try to restart the modem...also go to cnet downloads and download malwarebytes and a few other free anti spy ware programs to a usb stick or better yet burn to cd. Run programs and clean system and the usb stick...to prevent the gift that keeps on giving don't use the stick on any other system till it's clean.

Malwarebytes as suggested is outstanding. If you're not using it now, I would suggest Microsoft Security Essentials also in collaboration with Malwarebytes. Those two have kept me bug free for quite some time.

Welcome home, and have a Merry Christmas! I can remember those homecomings from overseas at Christmas time. Been over 40 years, but they never leave your mind.

Do you have another computer you can test the router with? Also did the scans show anything?
