    Network Share Issues

    Hi, everyone.
I have a home network with 5 nodes. All five nodes can see each other but cannot share each other's files and folders.

    Scenario:
    Laptop #1 Win 7 x64
    Laptop #2 Win 7 x64
    Desktop #1 Win Vista x32
    Desktop #2 Win Vista x32
    Desktop #3 Win 7 x64

All the nodes will print from the printer connected to Desktop #1. All nodes are on one group which I've named MSHOME.

How can I configure the nodes to read, copy, and paste to each other's hard drives, files and directories?

My AV is Norton Internet Security

Norton Internet Security is blocking the sharing. Configure Norton Internet Security to allow sharing.

    Hi,

Have you set the Sharing permissions for the relevant folders/files on each of the 5 nodes?

    Regards,

Disabling Norton won't cut it, you either need to configure it to work right or uninstall it. Other than that using the same workgroup name and allowing for share permissions should be working.

You'll need to adjust the "Security" tab AND the "Sharing" tab to allow users/groups to r/w to folders/drives

Yeah, I set all 3 permissions appropriately.

All nodes are members of a group I named MSHOME.

    ThanX for your replies.
